Katie makes her Freshfite debut and spends the first 9 minutes punishing and dominating Sammie, including a brutal foot choke like we’ve never seen before. Katie is incredibly strong and powerful, has a pro wrestling and TKD background, and is a new force to be reckoned with. Sammie fights back and traps Katie in a brutal inverted leg triangle but doesn’t quite get it set, and a battle of wills occurs as Sammie sits over Katie but Katie won’t tap. The first submission takes 18 minutes. Sammie has to use all of her skill to try to overcome Katie’s power, and it forces Sammie to change her usual catfighting strategy to avoid total domination.
